Overview
So last week I didn’t make a Saturday morning post since it was the end of my hiatus for my trip to Iceland. That trip was both sad and wonderful, as the purpose for being there was a funeral but my fiancé and I were able to take some time to ourselves and see some beautiful things. And buy some beautiful books!
What am I reading?
Nobody’s Duke by Scarlett Scott
This was one of the picks for a romance reading group I’m a member of on Goodreads, and so far I’m enjoying it! I’m a little over a quarter of the way in, and though there are some romance tropes that are a bit annoying there have been some pleasant surprises in the structure of the novel. A solidly enjoyable romance novel so far!
Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë
A famous classic, Wuthering Heights is one of my all time favorites. This is a reread for me that was inspired by a Facebook group I’m unfortunately no longer part of (there were a lot of posts to keep up with). I’ll be reading it at a slower pace than I was to keep up with the group’s discussions, but I’m still planning to finish it and make some sort of blog post. I love rereading classics like this, partly because I find some new detail every time that I may not have noticed in previous reads!
The Sagas and Shit by Grayson Del Faro
This was one of the books I bought in Iceland, partly because we saw and ad for it and immediately knew we needed it on our shelf. I’ve started it and considering how funny and concise it is, I think it’s likely I’m going to be finishing it today or tomorrow! I’m thoroughly enjoying it.
What am I posting?
Icelandic book haul! Also coffee and chocolate.
A post to commemorate the finishing of Circe, the review for which you can find on my blog!
Today’s post about the weekend! I took the past two days easy when it came to the blog, since I’ve been dealing with a lot of stuff lately. It’s kind of nice to start posting again with a cup of coffee and a funny book!
What’s next?
I’m catching up on some of the posts that I’ve been neglecting. I’ve finished the draft for my Fairy Tale Retellings post, which will go up tomorrow! Then, I will work on my Deerbrook review which is also overdue. Have a lovely weekend bookworms!
