Blogtober was really good for keeping me on track, and I didn’t even realize how much so until today when I discovered I missed last week’s Saturday wrap up! I’m definitely going to have to work to make a more rigorous blogging schedule.
What am I reading?
Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn
This is my first Flynn novel! I’ve seen Gone Girl and started watching the series based on this novel, but I’ve never actually been able to pick up one of Flynn’s works. However, I saw someone make a bookstagram post saying this is, in their opinion, Flynn’s strongest work so I immediately took out a library loan. It’s actually quite an engaging read and parallels interestingly with what I’m currently writing for NaNoWriMo 2019!
A Crown of Snow and Ice by Melanie Cellier
This is part of a series of fairy tale retellings by Cellier that I started last year during my fairy tale craze. I’ve read the first two books in the series, after having read a book Cellier wrote for a multi-author series that KM Shea also contributed to. I’m not very far in yet, and I’ve forgotten a lot of the details from the beginnings of the series, but I’m hoping that it picks up soon!
Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë
I started this reread back in September and put it down for a while to pursue other books. Now it’s back on my nightstand to serve as my “I’m staying in bed while I have my coffee” book, as well as tempt me into staying up a little too late sometimes.
What am I posting?
I was really excited to read Pictures of Dorianna when the blog tour was first announced and I signed up. But as you can read in this caption, I found it a little lackluster as someone so loving of the original novel it was based on…
Not sure about any of you, but as an adult I do quite a bit of reading during the holidays! Though that’s likely to change this year since I’ll be spending the holidays job and apartment hunting.
This post was inspired, as I say, but my succulent. Had to go hunting for those green books though!
I have been highly neglectful of my blog since Blogtober ended but here’s what I’ve got:
- My blog tour post for Pictures of Dorianna
- A post about my participation in NaNoWriMo 2019
- And finally my review for Reign of Magic by KM Shea
I am definitely going to try and get myself back on track with posting! My blog activity has taken a major hit in the last week, and that’s entirely on my shoulders. I just have to find a little inspiration for those blog posts…
