Today, book bees, I will be setting out to make a list of the books I want to read–or at least begin–in the month of August. I somewhat did this for July, and I’ve made monthly TBRs in the past, but this month I specifically want to focus on using this month to chip away at my fast expanding overall TBR.
Step One: How many books?
So based only on my reading challenge goals, I was meant to read about 1.5 books a week. However, due to my fast reading speed and my desire to put out at least two book reviews a week, my reading challenge is already at 13 books ahead of schedule! So despite want to read about 8 books a month, I’m not going to force myself to get to 8 titles. Since I’ve got two books I’m reading for blog tour purposes, I’ll set my minimum amount of books for my TBR at 4 books. If in the course of this post I end up with more, then so be it!
Step Two: Any special reads?
I’m thinking that I might try and incorporate at least one 2020 release into my reads of a month, just so that I’m not constantly catching up on the new releases I know are out but haven’t touched. The only way I’ll be able to manage this is if my library has access to an ebook copy, which is why I’m thinking that late 2019/early 2020 releases are my best bet for this. At least until I have enough money to contemplate buying a book…
Step Three: Decision time!
Now I suppose is the easy part, it’s time to start putting together the actual TBR list! I’ll be doing this mostly by having open my TBR on Goodreads, and then cross referencing titles with what I have access to on Kindle Unlimited and through my library. The final results are as follows:
- At the Feet of the Mothers by Adam Mahmutovic (blog tour)
- Anyone for Edmund? by Simon Edge (blog tour)
- New Moon by Stephenie Meyer (re-read)
- Hallow Wood (Furyck Saga #4) by A.E. Rayne
- Caribbean Jewel by Jayla Jasso
- Dread Pirate Arcanist (Frith Chronicles #2) by Shami Stovall
What’s on your August TBR so far, book bees?
