Wow book bees, it’s already the end of July. This year gets slow and fast unexpectedly, and there are moments where this month is taking forever and others where it’s gone by too quickly. I’m also very tired, and ready for things to either settle down enough that I can maintain a routine for more than a couple of days, or change so that I can fully adjust.
In trying to stay positive, this month has been an interesting one at least! I’ve had a couple of poems published in an online lit magazine, and gotten more into writing again (though I have been slacking on that the past couple weeks, due to working overtime hours mostly). I got really excited the other day when I received my first ever physical ARC, and honestly I am stoked to read it (vampires are my bread and butter after all).
I also did a little something for myself last night. My husband is starting a new D&D campaign, and he’s been trying to get me hyped up about it since I’ve lost a lot of my enjoyment and passion for D&D this year. I’ve created my character, and I like her, so he encouraged me to buy a dice set just for her and I did! I’m super excited, the company I purchased it from is a little family owned business and the dice have sea shells inside! Real shells!!!
My job is definitely taking a physical toll on me, though. This month I’ve gone into overtime twice and had my schedule messed up due to random circumstances. My knees are doing pretty poorly, twinging and aching whenever I walk now. There’s not much that I can do short of going to a doctor, but that’s not really an option right now. Especially since my husband already had dental surgery this month that was pretty expensive and we’ll be paying off for a while.
I don’t really know what else to say so I imagine this is the time to close up on this session of Coffee With Catherine. If you’ve made it this far, may I ask that you check out my Fiverr link? If you’re not personally interested in a tarot card reading, I’d appreciate a boost of my posts on tumblr and twitter promoting my card readings as at the moment this is my secondary source of income and those dental bills aren’t going to pay themselves…
Have a lovely rest of your July book bees!
