Monthly Wrap Up

June 2021 Wrap Up

Life Update

This month has been great for my husband! Things are chugging along and he’s finally able to legally work, and he immediately got a job. Now that we’re in a better position there, I’m hoping to get a full time job and actually not move to another state at the end of the summer. It would save us a lot of stress, and though where we would move could save us money we’re not sure we’d like it, make friends, and honestly things are expensive anywhere you are depending on what you’re earning. So, fingers crossed I can find a job in the next month and we can stay!

What I read this month:

  • My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell, 4 stars
  • Black Flags, Blue Waters: The Epic History of America’s Most Notorious Pirates by Eric Jay Dolin, 3 stars
  • The Henna Wars by Adiba Jaigirdar, 3 stars
  • The Sometimes Sisters by Carolyn Brown, 2 stars
  • American Royals (American Royals #1) by Katharine McGee, 4 stars
  • The One (The Selection #3) by Kiera Cass, 3 stars
  • The Gilded Ones (The Gilded Ones #1) by Namina Forna, 5 stars

DNF’ed: 1 book

Total: 7 books

  • 5 stars: 1 book
  • 4 stars: 2 books
  • 3 stars: 3 books
  • 2 stars: 1 book

Favorite Read

I think the book I enjoyed the most may have been The Gilded Ones or American Royals. With American Royals I was pretty absorbed and burned through the book quickly. The Gilded Ones also went by quickly, but I think they both had super creative elements. The Gilded Ones especially did a really good job setting up the big reveal at the end! Yeah, I’m going with The Gilded Ones as my favorite.
